How many of us either learned to count with the Count or have children/grandchildren who counted their toes and fingers with this near creepy guy?
Yesterday, Jerry Nelson, the man behind the voice of Count Von Count and Mr. Snuffleupagus, residents of Sesame Street, died yesterday at the age of 78. The cause of his death isn't of great concern to us; he had lived a long life. A couple of things really hit me with this story. One is how my children's childhood memories a beginning to leave us. And the second is how important the behind the scenes people are in our lives.
